Maritza Studart
World Citizen – Maritza Studart has been shaped from the very beginning of her life by a diverse mix of cultures and languages, allowing her to have extraordinary experiences. As a photojournalist, she photographed in remote villages in the Andes of South America, learned about ancient rituals and worldviews, and portrayed many artists, writers, and international musicians such as Phil Collins, AC/DC, Roxette, and Tito Puente.
Maritza Studart approaches the theme of change and the interlocking transitions of becoming and passing away and becoming again through installations, lyrical texts and photographic images. From a contemplative perspective, she sees herself as interwoven with the creative work in nature, which is why she often tries to show change and cycles in long-term photographic projects.
“Sometimes a poetic truth suddenly turns out to be a truth in science.”
António Rosa Damásio
